Google Workspace now supports direct editing of password-protected Microsoft Office files, eliminating the need for downloads and third-party software. This update enhances cross-platform collaboration, reduces vendor lock-in, and streamlines workflows for all Google Workspace users. The rollout will be completed by the end of January 2026.
