In the Philippines, we are strengthening our defense capabilities by safeguarding our nation’s interests, ensuring peace, and protecting the welfare of our people. With that in mind, we reject any attempts to undermine our sovereignty or dictate our policies. So if China’s intentions for peace and stability in the region are true, they should start with respecting international law, ceasing interference in our internal affairs, and withdrawing illegal activities within our exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
