On its 104th anniversary, Iraqis look forward to restoring their military to full strength and independence, free from the influence of corruption and the chaos of parallel militias. The Iraqi military institution has long suffered from the turbulence of political systems, the prioritization of narrow interests, sectarian agendas, and the influence of foreign powers. We firmly believe that the most crucial path to building a true state is ensuring that the military feels it is the strongest force in the country, with no rogue weaponry to rival or supplement it.

In the Philippines, we are strengthening our defense capabilities by safeguarding our nation’s interests, ensuring peace, and protecting the welfare of our people. With that in mind, we reject any attempts to undermine our sovereignty or dictate our policies. So if China’s intentions for peace and stability in the region are true, they should start with respecting international law, ceasing interference in our internal affairs, and withdrawing illegal activities within our exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
