I used to be stuck in a cycle of overconsumption. A better home, more products, more shopping, more luxury trips, more doing, more achieving. There was always this underlying feeling that I needed something else to feel whole inside—like I was always one step away from getting it right. It wasn’t until I changed my habits, who I was surrounded by, and rather than chasing the next best thing, I chose to follow the passions that were driving me towards my purpose—it was then that I was able to experience peace. Life now is simple, joyful, more intentional. I cherish moving my body daily and my health, genuine conversations, being connected to nature, and staying rooted in the things that I value. There isn’t this constant push to accumulate and upgrade. Instead I have a deep appreciation for what already is. The more I embrace this mindset, the more I look back and realize I never actually needed more. I just needed to reconnect with myself, change my habits, and remember what really matters. Happiness isn’t something you wait for. It’s here and available to you right now ♡

But not everything deserves a response. There are arguments that only fuel useless tensions. Many conflicts arise from the need to impose or vent frustrations, not from the desire to understand. Getting involved in that kind of dynamic does not lead to any real change. Choosing silence is not passivity. It is a way of preserving energy and prioritizing emotional well-being. Sometimes, not responding is an act of lucidity and respect for oneself. Immediate reaction, when born of fear of the judgment of others or the desire for approval, locks us into a logic that takes us away from what really matters. Much of our daily unease stems from an attachment to the transitory. We cling to conflicts that could be resolved if we knew how to distance ourselves. Taking a step back allows us to see clearly what is worthwhile and what is not. It is not a question of repressing emotions, but of expressing them consciously. Speaking or remaining silent at the right moment is part of a freedom that is built up over time. Those who manage to avoid automatic reaction begin to live from a more personal place, with greater clarity to decide where to get involved and where not to. This does not imply closing oneself off or distancing oneself from the world, but relating to conflicts in a different way. A lot of men are acting out of fear and running on old patterns. Externally, they're successful, yet they don't feel content, present, or completely fulfilled in life. Firstly, I think it's important to acknowledge that this is a normal thing to experience as a man. We live in a society that loves to push its ideals of progress onto us constantly. Once you've experienced this advertised "success," it's only then that we realise the external validation is never going to fulfil us long term. Despite the external success, many men have a distinct lack of presence in their lives, curiosity for themselves, and vitality as they age. Life feels heavy & hard despite the progress they've made externally. They did what they were meant to do, but internally, something doesn't feel right. The question becomes, will you choose to ignore what you're feeling long-term? A better life doesn't mean much if you don't know how to be there for it (mentally and emotionally). If you want to truly unwind your tension, don't do anything. Simply watch every thought, emotion, sensation, and urge arise in your awareness. Sit with it. Don't distract yourself with work, alcohol, social media, or any number of things we habitually let rule our lives. The answers will begin to reveal themselves.
