Dr. Sri Kothuri is a highly qualified and experienced General Practitioner (GP) at Classic Family Practice, Burleigh Waters. After growing up in Mauritius, studying in France, and working in South Australia—Dr Zahrah is now calling Gippsland home. Dr Zahrah is our newest GP working out of the LCHS Morwell clinic, and has a special interest in preventative medicine, chronic diseases, cardiovascular disease, and elderly care. She also has a background working in urology and women’s health. “It’s in my personality to see things through. I really like the role of a GP to be there from the beginning of the health problem to the end,” Dr Zahrah says. Dr Zahrah has always been drawn to working in rural areas, and is excited about her next chapter in Gippsland. “In my time working in rural South Australia, I’ve seen how access to healthcare in regional areas works, and how different it can be to metro. I believe in health equity, and I’m happy to be where I’m needed,” she says. “Gippsland does feel like home already.” Dr Zahrah’s approach to healthcare is holistic and patient-focused. “My approach is to be welcoming and non-judgemental; that’s something all doctors need to be,” she says. “I also see myself as progressive-minded. Dr Owhondah is commonly known as “Dr Rum” to her colleagues and patients. Dr Rum was born in Nigeria. She graduated from the University of Ghana with a BSc (Medical Science) Degree in 2005 and was awarded her medical degree (MB ChB) in 2009. She has worked in the public and private sectors in Ghana between 2009 and 2017, then worked in the UK as a medical officer in Orthopedics, before undertaking her formal GP training. She was awarded her GP certification (MRCGP) in 2021 by the Royal College of General Practitioners. She has completed a post-CCT GP fellowship program and worked as a family GP and subsequently as a GP Principal (Partner) up until December 2024. She was the Quality outcome framework (QOF) co-lead for her previous practice in the UK. She is a warm, thoughtful and reflective GP who brings a unique multi-cultural and open-minded approach to her work and delivers a high standard of personalised care to her patients.
