PLEASE SHARE FOR OSHIE 🐾 On July 1st, just days before the 4th of July, Oshie was one of 40 dogs scheduled to be euthanized at a high-kill shelter in Oklahoma. They weren’t sick or aggressive. They were just out of time. The shelter had to clear space for the flood of animals expected after the fireworks — strays terrified by noise, fear, and chaos. So they made a list. And Oshie’s name was on it. We couldn’t let that be her end. We said yes — to her, and to 39 others. We loaded the van. We made the promise. And we brought them to safety. But for the past two weeks, Oshie has been in medical boarding, quietly fighting to get better. She just beat an upper respiratory infection, has her health certificate, and is finally cleared to travel to our shelter. Now she just needs one thing: a foster. Or better yet, a forever home. She deserves more than another kennel. She deserves to know what love feels like. Meet Oshie: – Shy at first, but a total lover once she trusts you – A little hyper at first, but calms down quickly – Startled by fast movements and loud noises – Non-reactive to other dogs, but we’re not sure how she feels about sharing space with them yet – Incredibly sweet. Still so young. Just scared, and so deserving of a fresh start. We don’t know anything about her past. But we do know that from this moment on, her life will be filled with love — thanks to people like you. We are drowning in medical bills, boarding costs, and the constant struggle of trying to save lives in Oklahoma while still caring for the many waiting in our shelters. And we can’t do it alone. 📣Today makes 652 days that Otis has been in rescue, this is a reality for many dogs in Oklahoma. Before entering rescue, Otis had been living at a rural municipal shelter for months. Otis has been in a few different foster homes, boarding, & the dog training program at Mabel Basset. He also went to a training program to try to be a working dog but ultimately does not have the drive to be a working dog & has much more of a desire to be a house hippo so “flunked out” of the program. We can’t blame him though, he just wants a comfy couch to chill on, a family to love him, and to get all the spoils of being a house doggo! Otis has been waiting for a home to choose him, waiting for someone to see his worth, to stand by him through thick & thin! Otis is available through Kanoa Rescue Foundation who has stood by through thick & thin! ✅ Loves being in the backyard with his peeps ✅ Loves to play but also loves to chill ✅ Good with kids ✅ Neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations & preventatives. 💔 Good boy being overlooked for adoption ➡️ Otis is currently looking for a home without other dogs or cats. 🏡 He would do good in a home who is able to crate & rotate as well, he is successfully doing this now in his foster home!
