Bagpipes, electric guitars, delay-drenched mandolins and seashells! You can expect an evening of epic music at EKKO in Utrecht. This show is the result of a unique collaboration between Utrecht and Porto musicians celebrating the rich heritage of traditional Portuguese Folk Music through a multicultural perspective. Traveling all the way from Portugal, 'O Marta' will be a guest artist opening the evening performing his own special take on Portuguese music. While the Red Oak Troubadours ft Isabel Martinez (NL/PT) take a multicultural approach, fusing it with the band's original influences from American Folk, Blues and Rock, O Marta (PT) takes a more abstract approach, deconstructing it and blending it with Drum and Bass and Experimental Electronic Music. Together, they take the audience on an immersive journey through a variety of Portuguese musical landscapes, sounds and stories that celebrate the musical diversity from this country. Joining the bands outside of the stage, a collective of artists and creatives will be exhibiting and selling their work.
