Virginia and the Vietnam War: Our new temporary exhibit is now open on the mezzanine level. Developed by the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, this traveling exhibit shares the stories and experiences of Virginian’s who fought in Southeast Asia. On display now through 2/24/2025. Fifty years since the Fall of Saigon—when communist forces invaded the capital of South Vietnam and renamed it Ho Chi Minh City—Virginians still feel the impact of the Vietnam War, a long, costly, and controversial conflict. The exhibit examines this period in history through the use of oral histories collected across the state. If you have an artifact or two from your service in Vietnam (hat, patches, helmet, boots, etc.) that you would like to display with us, please contact Military Aviation Museum Curator Zack Baughman at volcoord@aviationmuseum.us. The artifact(s) must be able to fit on one shelf within these cases. #Vietnam #Virginia #VietnamWarVeteran #VirginiaBeach #HamptonRoads #Veteran #MilitaryAviationMuseum #MuseumExhibit
