These things were spoken of Judah in the days of Jeremiah, and yet so much of it could be spoken in the midst of some churches today, for there are a number of institutionalized churches that have indeed grown very prosperous while ignoring the needs of the needy. And indeed there are many false prophets in churches today who speak falsely from their own hearts. Yes, it is even common to see many priests, pastors, bishops, etc. who rule by their own power and not according to the authority of Christ, and yet the people in their congregations love to have it so. But God is against those who turn from His ways and pursue their own. There are many things from the Old Testament that are very relevant even for today because they teach us principles and help us to see the heart of God. Don't believe those who pretend like the Old Testament is antiquated and not important for the Church to study. There is so much in the Old Testament Scriptures that can guard us and protect us, if we are willing to seek the Lord with our whole hearts to better know Him, that we may also better follow Him. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Seek Him daily, from the rising of the sun to its going down. He is worthy!
