✨ Freedom Hill Sanctuary Volunteer Day ✨ 🐖 Last month, some of our team members used their paid volunteer hours to assist at the Freedom Hill Sanctuary 🐏 The team had a baa-rilliant time! It wasn't all horsing around though, our team rolled up their sleeves to help feed the animals, weed around the chicken pen and clean up paddocks around the farm. 🐑 The team were able to finish the day with some cuddles from the gorgeous new lambs that had arrived. 🐴 Covering 200 acres in Monarto South, Freedom Hill Sanctuary is a safe haven for rescued farm animals who were abandoned by their previous owners. Freedom Hill Sanctuary aims to provide a loving forever home to farm animals all while educating people on cruelty-free living. ❤️ If you're an animal lover and enjoy getting outdoors to do a bit of physical work, volunteering with Freedom Hill Sanctuary might be ideal for you. You'll get some sunshine and see all the sweet furry faces, all while supporting an amazing cause. It's an udderly good time! You can find them on Facebook using the tag above!

Retired physicians Guy and Marilynn Prince Fiocco began their journey with Global Care Force during its early days as COVID Care Force. Since then, they have volunteered in the Navajo Nation, at the Southern Border, several times in Ukraine and just returned from Jordan. Each volunteer experience has brought the couple deeper fulfillment, with every mission more rewarding than the last. 📣 THANK YOU 📣 We would like to give a massive shout out to the volunteers, members and families of the Cornets Club committee. Without them, all of the ride outs, cornets ball and dinner, family fun events, barbecues, as well our much loved Guid Nychburris Day ride, would simply not take place. Everyone works extremely hard throughout the months leading up to our main Guid Nychburris day and they complete jobs that will go largely unnoticed by the general public as many are behind the scenes. Whether it be checking routes are safe for the ride outs, stewarding on horseback, in vehicles and on foot, repairing and maintaining the Castledykes war memorial, replacing flags, cutting back hedges, ground repairs, cutting grass, fencing the Kingholm gallop and park farm chases, organising rosette orders, handing out refreshments for riders, bagging up riders ribbons, setting up barriers on Guid Nychburris Day, clearing the stage following the crowning, setting up for the Loreburn hall for the Cornets Ball, they simply do it all and so much more! Thank you once again, we appreciate everyone giving up their time to support the club 💙🤍

And as a cancer treatment facility, Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) knows only too well the impact of providing welcoming, warm, and supportive spaces for everyone coming through its doors. MIA’s Operations team is now looking for volunteers to help them maintain these spaces at The Poche Centre in Wollstonecraft. But first, let’s be up front … it’s not a glamourous role. It’s a hands-on role. It’s a role for someone who is passionate about the work we do. It’s a role for someone who wants to contribute to the wellbeing of patients and staff by helping to provide a positive environment that benefits MIA as a whole. After Hurricane Helene devastated her home and community in South Carolina, Selenia Sadai knew she had to rebuild her life. But she wanted to do more — she wanted to help others rebuild, too. A coworker encouraged Selenia to check out the Red Cross, and not long after, she signed up to volunteer with the American Red Cross of South Carolina. As a new volunteer, Selenia quickly saw the impact disaster volunteers make on families affected by home fires. “Being able to go out and meet different people, being able to comfort individuals during a time of need — all of that is very satisfying for me,” Selenia said. “It gives me a sense of purpose, like I’m doing something in the world to help change it or make it better." Now, as a Disaster Action Team Lead, Selenia mentors new volunteers, helps manage supplies, and works to improve disaster response processes. She became a leader in her region and found a second family in the process. “We’re so tight-knit,” Selenia said. “These are people I never would have met if I hadn’t joined the Red Cross. You have people who are very good-hearted, caring, and loving. If that’s something you may lack in life or are looking to have, the American Red Cross is definitely the route to go.” Without volunteers like Selenia, our mission wouldn't be possible!
