I couldn’t sleep due to constant worry. Everything got quiet. And that’s when the fear would show up. I’d lie there in bed, staring at the ceiling, and my body would start doing... something. It felt like my body was trying to tell me something terrible. And I couldn’t ignore it. I would toss and turn for hours, checking my pulse, sitting up to catch my breath, Googling symptoms in the dark. I’d try to calm down, but my brain wouldn’t let go. Even when I finally fell asleep, it wasn’t peaceful. I’d wake up in a sweat. I’d jolt awake with my heart pounding. I’d dream of hospitals, of not being able to breathe, of something going wrong.
