ANOTHER SUNDAY🔸ANOTHER SERMON Palm Sunday-The Praise That Receives Can you hear the sounds of celebration? Jesus is making His way into Jerusalem. He’s not sneaking in. He’s not avoiding attention. He’s riding in with bold intention—on a donkey, fulfilling prophecy from Zechariah 9:9. The crowd gathers. They begin to shout, “Hosanna! Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” It’s praise—not quiet, hushed or reserved appreciation. It’s loud, public, and joyful. And in that praise…they’re receiving. In this very moment, they are unknowingly receiving their savior, their redeemer, their messiah. Tapestry after tapestry tossed to the ground to pave the way of our savior, Jesus. Proclamations resounding the honor and praise He so deserved. Praise Is the Language of Faith Praise is what faith sounds like when it finds its voice. When you pray, you come with a request. But when you praise, you come with confidence that it’s already being answered. Praise positions you to Receive. Your praise might be the very thing that pulls the promise from heaven to earth. The people praised, and prophecy came to pass. This echoes Habakkuk 2:11, where the prophet says: “The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.” “When Jesus said, ‘The stones will cry out,’ He wasn’t being poetic—He was being prophetic. He was declaring that even creation cannot be quiet when the Creator is present. ✨Jesus, the Cornerstone, is entering the city. ✨The religious leaders are rejecting Him. ✨But the very stones of the city are ready to testify if no one else will. In this moment, the disciples were receiving the miracle of Jesus with their praise. Move from asking…to receiving. From worry…to worship. From pleading…to praising. You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect to praise. Praise before the answer. Praise before the shift. Praise as if it’s already done. Expecting produces praise and praise positions you to receive. Praise invites the miracle. 🕊️

The Bible story of Sodom and Gomorrah is one of the most compelling and cautionary stories in the Book of Genesis. These ancient cities, known for their rampant wickedness, were destroyed by divine judgment, leaving a lasting impact on religious and cultural discussions about sin and morality. This article delves into the narrative of Sodom and Gomorrah, exploring its themes, significance, and enduring lessons. Join us this Sunday in week 2 of "HISTORICITY OF THE BIBLE" where Pastor Ronnie will dig into this account in Genesis.

constraint

My Sunday two minute sermon. The fence is missing but the sheep will not go through the gate" could have many possible meanings, today we will explore three. First, the image serves as a powerful metaphor for how we can feel ‘stuck’ despite having the freedom to move forward. It’s a reminder to step back, reassess, and realize that the gate is open and the path to growth is ours to take. Secondly, and this is the biblical reference. The imagery draws heavily from the parable of the Good Shepherd in the Bible (John 10), where Jesus is described as the "gate" and the sheep are the followers who trust and listen to his voice. The sheep trust in the shepherd: hence the sheep's willingness to stay within the boundaries even without a fence shows their trust in the shepherd to guide and protect them. This means that even though there is no physical barrier preventing them from leaving, the sheep still choose to stay within the designated area, likely because they trust and follow the shepherd, signifying a strong sense of obedience and reliance on leadership, often interpreted as a metaphor for people choosing to follow the right path even when there's no apparent constraint. Thirdly and this is the moral interpretation of the imagery. In a broader sense, it can represent the idea that people will choose to do the right thing, even when there's no immediate consequence or pressure, if they have faith in a higher power or ethical principles to guide their thoughts or actions. Key points to consider: 1. Physical barrier: Sometimes, we unknowingly limit ourselves, staying within barriers that no longer serve us. 2. Biblical reference and theological interpretation: The trust we have in God's guidance should encourage growth through faith and commitment in the guidance of the Shepherd. 3. Moral interpretation: Speaks to our integrity and ethical principles that guide our thoughts and actions. Conclusion and celebration: We can be our own worst enemy if we do not seek a relationship of faith, love and commitment with our God who guides us and steers our moral compass in the right direction in thought and action. When you come to a gate in life be sure you are in communication with God for guidance on how you should govern yourself. Though God may not be present physically God is present within us and if we tune our hearts and minds to his frequency we can hear God's gentle guidance in the right direction. When you come to an obstacle in life, seek God. God will see you through. If you are unsure of what to do, stand fast, reassess and allow for God to guide your heart and mind in the proper direction. Lastly, I share the advice my mother would often give me when giving instruction and guidance when I had made mistakes. She would often say, "When you are not sure what to do, do the right thing. You can't go wrong with that." This has been my Sunday two minute sermon. I hope it blesses your heart and nourishes your soul. Grace and Peace Facebook family and friends. Blessings to you for a great week. 🐑. 🌱

A few years ago I delivered the Sunday sermon at my local Unitarian Universalist church. I spoke on the “Divine Paradox” which can be reconciled within Hermetic philosophy. That paradox is between the apparent separateness we perceive here in the physical world, and the underlying truth of our Oneness within Spirit. In Hindu faiths they call that illusion of separateness Maya. Other facets of this paradox ask questions related to the gender of Spirit being the full range from God to Goddess and all the variations in between. According to the ancient Hermetic texts, that range of gender possibility is also found within humans, who were made in the image of our Divine Parents. In Witchcraft we sometimes call them The Two Who Move as One, and I abbreviate them as God/dess. There was a children’s story-telling time as part of that UU service, so I re-wrote the Hermetic “Genesis” story for those children and read it aloud to them. I called it “Pymander the Rainbow Dragon.” Click the button to continue reading…
