The stages of drinking... So much of a difference from the beginning to end. I was lost and had no idea. The whole time I thought I was extroverted - I was just drunk. Mingling with everyone and not really knowing anyone. Trading my deep connections for comfortable surface level conversations. Feels good to be on the other side. The other side where I open up when I'm comfortable, not where Sauvignon Blanc is running through my veins. On this side I feel grounded. I feel at peace. 639 days sober ♥ sobriety and getting myself healthy again saved my life if I could type out a list of things that I lost when I chose sobriety, you would be reading this post all day. I lost self-doubt, self-sabotage, shame & blame, poor decisions, emotional outbursts, misplaced anger, numbness, depression spirals, toxic relationships, fake friends, hidden bottles, memory gaps, weight struggles, phone calls from my daughter crying while I was out partying, fake happiness, living in chaos, health anxiety….and the list goes on. proud of myself is an extreme understatement. here is to 21 months sober, remaining 90 pounds down… and 2025 being seamlessly and beautifully lived 🤸🏼‍♀️🤞🏻
