How To Overcome Fear During A Famine
By Pastor Dapo Adeniyi
One of the things a famine or scarcity causes is fear. This is particularly so when what is in short supply is desperately needed for survival. Food for example, or purchasing power, which is money. Famine can befall an individual, not only with regard to food or funds but in other areas of life as well. There can be a famine of love and affection. A famine of respect and honour, of strength and health, etc. Conversely, there can be a rain of finances, strength, affection, favour, honour and respect. A famine can also happen to a nation.
Even though famines have been caused by indiscretion on the part of men or worsened by it, in the majority, the causes are known only to God. An environment that has known a cycle of rain and dry season, seeding and harvest for very many years can be hit by a cessation of rain, as was the case with the whole world in the time of Joseph.
Cain is also described as a cunning hunter. And that kind of appellation is earned, not awarded cheaply. He was by no means a slack person, especially when it came to his work. His father often ate from his catch and had grown a taste for it. What most people who enter life’s harvest without having significantly experienced a famine often forget is that, a harvest is a grant from God, not attributable solely to human effort. And pride resulting from one’s accomplishment or acquisition is bare dishonesty. There comes a time when the best does not win. The Bible cautions that the race is not always given to the swift, neither is the battle always won by the mighty.
Famine can drive an individual from anxiety to fear, and from fear to panic. Let’s observe that one of the first things Prophet Elijah said to the widow in Zarepath was “fear not”. This is because fear borne by scarcity can bind a hand that normally gives. We can remember how Jesus praised the poor widow in the temple who gave what amounted to all her life’s earnings in the offering. The chains of lack however are nothing compared to the manacles won by the greedy. As a Christian worker over many years, I can attest that the rich are the stingiest. The rich don’t give, with the exception of those who grew their substance under the tutelage of heaven.
Fear becomes the norm when famine has a landfall. It makes men travel in the opposite of where God’s deliverance and provisions reside. The tendency is to horde and accumulate, not give or water altars as Elijah commanded the people during that memorable contest on Mount Carmel. That is why, when God shows up, the first thing He does is take the fear out. I was in Zimbabwe years back and I witnessed the extent the government went to preserve water to keep the nation alive because of a grievous drought that beset their region.
Scarcity can wear down a generous spirit but by witnessing a rain of the power of Jehovah Jireh and through continuous exposure to God’s word, the chains of fear can be broken and destroyed.
Elijah is sent to meet the widow of Zarepath. I can bet that she was not the only widow there. I see here that God knows all His works indeed. He knows every soil into which His word may be sown. Those going forward to sow His word must depend on Him for direction, otherwise they will waste a lot of seed and till barren ground. The work becomes unduly difficult. Elijah did not know the widow previously but was led thereto. The widow was a willing spirit.
We also note here how the word is given by a vessel fully submitted before God and not one filled with greed. Elijah asks the woman to take the leap of faith but also gave consideration to her wellbeing. Be watchful for the absence of love in so-called ministry. Be sure that hirelings and deceivers will be callous. Elijah tells the woman to make a little cake for him even though her situation was dire. She should also make for herself and her son. A hireling will request to consume everything and set that as a condition for her and her son to see the provision of God.

ANOTHER SUNDAY🔸ANOTHER SERMON
Palm Sunday-The Praise That Receives
Can you hear the sounds of celebration?
Jesus is making His way into Jerusalem. He’s not sneaking in. He’s not avoiding attention. He’s riding in with bold intention—on a donkey, fulfilling prophecy from Zechariah 9:9.
The crowd gathers. They begin to shout, “Hosanna! Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” It’s praise—not quiet, hushed or reserved appreciation.
It’s loud, public, and joyful.
And in that praise…they’re receiving.
In this very moment, they are unknowingly receiving their savior, their redeemer, their messiah.
Tapestry after tapestry tossed to the ground to pave the way of our savior, Jesus.
Proclamations resounding the honor and praise He so deserved.
Praise Is the Language of Faith
Praise is what faith sounds like when it finds its voice.
When you pray, you come with a request.
But when you praise, you come with confidence that it’s already being answered.
Praise positions you to Receive.
Your praise might be the very thing that pulls the promise from heaven to earth.
The people praised, and prophecy came to pass.
This echoes Habakkuk 2:11, where the prophet says:
“The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.”
“When Jesus said, ‘The stones will cry out,’ He wasn’t being poetic—He was being prophetic. He was declaring that even creation cannot be quiet when the Creator is present.
✨Jesus, the Cornerstone, is entering the city.
✨The religious leaders are rejecting Him.
✨But the very stones of the city are ready to testify if no one else will.
In this moment, the disciples were receiving the miracle of Jesus with their praise.
Move from asking…to receiving.
From worry…to worship.
From pleading…to praising.
You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect to praise.
Praise before the answer.
Praise before the shift.
Praise as if it’s already done.
Expecting produces praise and praise positions you to receive.
Praise invites the miracle.

Wise off
Dear Friend,
We live in a world full of challenges. Even when it seems like the world has turned upside down, I want you to know that you are not alone. Yes, we have an adversary. More than that, we have our God who is mighty and He is not far off—He is near and He is ready to fight for us. The Lord warned us of danger ahead, and He told us how to handle ourselves.
“Stay alert. This is hazardous work I’m assigning you. You’re going to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so don’t call attention to yourselves. Be as shrewd as a snake, inoffensive as a dove.”
Matthew 10:16 (MSG)
We know that the Lord Jesus promised to return, and we are wise to look for His appearing. But until the day that Jesus returns, He’s commissioned us to live by faith.
As the prophet Habakkuk said,
In a little while, only a little longer,
the One who is coming will come without delay.
38 But My righteous one must live by faith,
for if he gives up his commitment,
My soul will have no pleasure in him.
39 My friends, we are not those who give up hope and so are lost; but we are of the company who live by faith and so are saved.
Hebrews 10:37-39 (VOICE)
Do you want to please God until Jesus comes back for us? If so, then determine in your heart to walk by faith. Don’t shrink back when you hear bad news or if you see someone who appears to be blessed even when they live for the devil.
Our Lord is coming, and He will not delay! Let’s live by faith and encourage one another until Jesus returns, and His appearing splits the eastern sky!
What a day that will be!

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐒 𝐏𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇: 𝐌𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲
My enemy, do not rejoice because I am in trouble. I have fallen down, but I will get back up. I am in the dark, but the Lord will be my light (Micah 7:8-10).
Most of the enemies in our lives operate on a pattern of beliefs that shape how they perceive us. When they look at our lives, they see a downtrodden man or woman, a failure, someone with no destiny.
𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
Micah acknowledges that it is true your enemies are rejoicing because you have fallen but remember that your fall is temporary. As a child of God, when you stumble, you do not settle or bury yourself; you rise, dust yourself off, and continue the marathon. A living dog is better than a dead lion.
That lion you fear is only dangerous while it is alive; when it dies, even a timid dog can dance around and feed on its carcass. Child of God, rise up! Your existence today is proof that your tomorrow will be bigger and brighter.
Many of your close friends, distant relatives, and even your ancestors have spoken against your life and are working to ensure that this year amounts to nothing for you. I hear a voice in the inner chamber chanting, "You cannot get married, find a good job, receive a scholarship, get a visa, or get a promotion this year."
𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬, "𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐀𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐞."

sermon
This morning, I had the opportunity to listen to a sermon by Pastor Joshua Selman, who stated, "Choices and Decisions are Pathways leading somewhere." This statement really resonated with me. As leaders, the choices and decisions we make significantly impact the lives of those we lead. It's important for us to reflect on the direction we are guiding them toward. Are we leading them to growth, fulfillment, or positive change? This empowers us to make intentional and constructive decisions while uplifting those we lead.

verse
05 JANUARY 2025
Good morning and win today.
Great i am ,we have overcomed the world. In the Arena of Victory the enemy is under our feet.
HAPPY NEW YEAR,A YEAR OF OF ASCENDING
Today's message is titled :
BELIEVING IS THE WORK OF GOD from John 6 verse 28 and 29.
Verse 28 Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"
Verse 29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."
You cannot do the work of God without believing in him.
The first key is to believe in him .Believing is the work of God .Without believing you are not doing the work of God. Many have been saying what should we do in order to work for God ,now the answer/command that is given it is that we believe in him.If you believe in him you will receive the work of God.
Without believing there is no work that we can do. Outside believing there is no work we can do. There are two kinds of believe that conduct the work.
I) The first believe is the believe in God
ii) The second is to believe in the sent one
When we emphasis on believing in the sent one it means to believe in his word.
If you don’t believe in him and his word ,then you are not doing the work. We are commanded believe ,failing to believe in what God have said is failing to believe in God.This is failing the principle of the work .Believing is the key to our work.
In believing there is no choices to make .It is only God that make us to believe .It is only God that knows believing it is work ,not us. Believing is the work of God .
Jesus is the sun of God .He was being released as the word to us .But still we do not believe in him.
Today we see many backsliding. We saw a man in the bible requesting God to help with his unbelieve .We are backsliding because of the believe we carry .Some believe in themselves ,some believe in others. But today God is request that we believe in him and in the word that he has released.
In Matthews 16 v 24 it reads,Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. The cross that Jesus was referring to is the work .The work is believing. Our hearts should be busy believing and not carrying offense or sin.
When the word that we are instructed to believe in comes ,you are the one who decides what to do with it. Let us visit 1 Corinthians 4 v 21 It reads ,’What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a rod of discipline, or shall I come in love and with a gentle spirit?’In this verse it questions on how do want to receive the word,do u want to receive it with gentleness ,or with love or with war ?Note that God also instructs us by saying when God speaks, the wise listen.
John 6:30 says ,So they asked Him, "What sign then will You perform, so that we may see it and believe You? What will You do? They answered, “Show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. A true believer never tests God. OUR duty is to submit and surrender to God.
As we start the year of ascending we are commanded to believe.

𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐧𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐚𝐰𝐚 𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐲
James says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26)
There are many verses that say the true saving faith will result in a transformed life,
Paano tayo namumuhay?
Naipapakita ba natin na tayo ay mga tunay na Anak ng Diyos, or just professing Christians?
Dito sa passage nato, minsan we are using this "Out of context"
to create a 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. Or yung iba mas matindi pa, they have to work-out their salvation to become prosperous.
James here is not saying, that our works make us " Righteous" before God
but real saving faith is demonstrated by good works.
"𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬."
Kaya nga dapat ang isang tao, claiming " Christian" ang buhay ay patuloy na nagpapabago sa Panginoon pero when they live in willful 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙙.
Paul basically says the same thing in 1 Corinthians 6:9–10. James contrasts two different types of faith—𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙙.
Many profess to be Christians, pero ang problema ay hindi talaga nakikita ang buhay ng isang pagiging Christian.
Jesus put it this way: “By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers’” (Matthew 7:16–23).
𝐎𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡.
Kaya, if a someone have Faith but 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙮𝙡𝙚, no result of having a life of obedience to Christ—𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚.
We know, if we are bearing good fruits.
Check your lifestyle?
Check your life with God?
👉Ang isang taong nag surrender ng buhay sa Diyos, inamin na siya ay makasalanan at kailangan Niya ng kapatawaran, this unregenerate sinner has the “washing of regeneration 👉and renewing of the Holy Spirit” poured out on him (Titus 3:5), at magiging isa siyang "born again" (John 3:3).
👉When this happens, God gives the forgiven sinner a new heart and puts a new spirit within him (Ezekiel 36:26).
👉God removes his sin-hardened heart of stone and fills him with the Holy Spirit.
👉The Spirit then causes the saved person to walk in obedience to God’s Word (Ezekiel 36:26–27).
Malinaw po ba sa atin?
🌱 𝑼𝒏𝒂, 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒏𝒊𝒓𝒆-𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒚 𝒏𝒂 𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊 𝒃𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒐 𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒊𝒚𝒐𝒔. Kung tayo ay may buhay na binago ( regenerated heart )by the Holy Spirit, our lives will demonstrate that new life. Our works will be characterized by obedience to God.
🌱 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒘𝒂, 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒚 𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒚𝒂 𝒂𝒚 𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒑𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒚 𝒏𝒂 " 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏" 𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊, 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒓. As Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
📌My co-workers in Christ, brothers and sisters; marahil minsan napapatanong ikaw sa sarili mo, " Kristiyano ba ako". I pray na after mong mabasa ito, you will have that assurance na " 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙗𝙮 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚".
Dahil "Faith in Christ always results in good works"
"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."

Message from Pastor Conley:
We all( including myself ) have weaknesses and God realizes that. The enemy wants us to think that our weakness are the way he can drag us down and get us farther away from Christ. However, scripture offers us something on the contrary. God can and will use our weaknesses to draw us closer to him if we will trust him and realize that it is his strength and not ours!
