Today’s intakes 4 x 9 week old babies found in a skip bin this afternoon This is rescue unfortunately. This is what we deal with on a daily basis. They are so very lucky that they were found by some kindhearted workers, who were able to catch them and contacted us immediately for help. We are technically at capacity…we don’t have enough foster carers and our finances are absolutely stretched to the limit…but how do you say no to these 4 precious little souls? You just can’t. It’s not within our bones. We were put on this planet to save lives. Kittens. At any hour of the day. We raced off to collect them and we’re so glad we did as they were in even worse shape than what we thought We dropped everything. Every second counts in this situations. They are skeletal…not an ounce of body fat on them…they are dehydrated, anaemic and have symptoms of flu…they really wouldn’t have lasted much longer Please keep them in your thoughts and those of our dedicated volunteer team who are doing everything they can to get them healthy and well We don’t plan on situations like these. As you can imagine costs build and quickly. It's rescue, things happen when you least expect but we need to do what is right. For the animals. The costs will run into the thousands. To our dear followers, this is a post I wish I didn’t have to write. This close to new year’s eve and all. You have to believe me. The end of an exhausting, emotional and overwhelming year is here and it’s supposed to be a time of hope, joy and celebration. It’s Miranda here, Founder of Soquilichi, writing to you with a heartfelt plea and I’m desperately turning to you for urgent help. For 5 beautiful kittens who are all just 2 week old. Their mum has been tragically killed by a snake and they are not in a good way. We need to pull out all stops and given it’s new years the costs will rise significantly. We’ve received a call for help. A mum has been killed by a snake and the caller was desperate. Given that one of these kittens is two weeks old. As always we have rushed, dropped everything to help. Our carer was celebrating with family and friends and rushed to their aid. They are with us now. Our team are doing their best. A number of them have cancelled new year’s celebrations. They are truly angels on this earth. These kittens will need 24/7 care. Our team will spend tonight Bottle feeding, giving these precious little things the best chance of survival. Rescue is tough, rescue is unrelenting and the calls for help come in at any time. Rescue doesn’t stop for public holidays, or birthdays or graduations or the beginning of a new year. I founded this rescue with one thing in mind. To save precious animals in their darkest hours. For these 5 precious kittens, their time is now. We must do whatever it takes. We need to raise at least $7,000 for their vet bills, food and care which will continue for weeks to come. I hope you understand.
