FREE Introductory class: *learn the 3 core aspects of self-compassion *practice a self-love meditation *have time for Q&A Free Introduction 💗💐 to Self-Love and Self-Compassion If our parents were overly critical, emotionally abusive, not present enough, or some form of under-affirming, we retain scars of their message: we're not worthy of deep love. We truly are, but it takes work to fully realize it. In addition to facilitating group reflection on the Self-Compassion Workbook, I'll show how we can listen deeply and lovingly to our truths and model an empathic self-talk of kindness and acceptance. Register for the Free Introduction here: https://www.divinenaturetherapy.com/booking-calendar/self-love-introductory-session-free *** Full 8 week course starts Sept. 2nd: "Self-Love for Folks of UnderAffirming Parents" Tuesdays 5:30-7pm in person with online options, 8 weeks, 90 minutes each session. 4-8 people. This group is for you IF ONE of these is true: You * hear negative self-talk in your mind * seek approval or affirmation from others more than from within * have dominating perfectionist tendencies or * have trouble regulating emotions (feeling & expressing them well) and *you're ready to grow more in self-love! *you want confidence in healthy coping responses to stress. *you're open to trying meditations. *you want to support others who are on this journey, and can listen well. This support group is in person and online via Zoom. You must register beforehand; registration is limited. Book the 8 week course at www.DivineNatureTherapy.com/book-online ***** More about this course: We will explore about ten chapters of The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook: A Proven Way to Accept Yourself, Build Inner Strength, and Thrive, by Kristin Neff: https://a.co/d/btp2o2s . (You can buy it or borrow it from a library.) One chapter will be the focus each week, and you can come having read the information and done the exercises as much as you can. (I understand that sometimes life prevents us from doing what we intend- it's truly okay.) The book is 24 chapters long, and you’re welcome to work the rest on your own, or reach out to me for individual support with it. This book contains many of the exercises like ones I teach in individual sessions, because many people need them. A group offers us the experience to: ~honor a shared human experience of struggle and growth ~help ourselves stay accountable to practicing, ~receive empathy (be compassionately seen and heard), and ~get extra support from Shannon at a group rate. Here's how moms of addicted sons or daughters finally set "peaceful" but "powerful" boundaries - to end the worry and constant fighting. I’m Barbara and I’ve spent years showing thousands of other moms how to “work miracles” with their children. Along my journey, I’ve served with brilliant clinicians, I’ve earned professional certifications… But my biggest (and most surprising) lessons… ...came from the pain and frustration I faced with my own addicted son. See, I remember the calls late at night to go pick him up. I remember the shock of realizing what my baby boy had become. I could tell stories about police visits, strangers in my house, stolen belongings… ...and the worry that haunted me almost every night. But honestly, the real pain was that I just didn’t know WHAT TO DO. Believe me, I read everything I could get my hands on. I went to the support groups. They all tell us to stop “enabling” our children and to “set boundaries.” The problem is absolutely no one tells us HOW to actually do that. I tried setting boundaries, but he either ignored them or I didn’t know how to follow through. They just created arguments… and they certainly weren’t effective. I tried making rules. I tried laying down penalties… Nothing changed. The nightmare continued. But then a wise clinician opened my eyes. She showed me the REAL root of the issue. (and it changed everything for me). See, mothers are wired to love our kids a certain way. And that’s great for our non-addicted children. But it’s the exact OPPOSITE of what an addicted child needs. Let me be clear - our addicted children still need our love… They just need to be “loved another way.” So I started making bold changes in how I treated my son. Not enabling. Not abandoning. And I was finally setting boundaries that work. “Peaceful” boundaries… but “powerful” boundaries. I was no longer facing the manipulation, the constant chaos, and the worry. Not only did this give me back my own life, peace, and joy again… It changed my son. He chose recovery! Today my son has a promising career, and I’m so proud of the mature and responsible man he’s become. He is the first to say that the shift in ME… ...is the single biggest thing that allowed HIM to choose recovery. And after discovering how to love my son in the way he needed… ...I am passionate about bringing this message to the mothers of other addicted sons and daughters out there. That’s why I’ve put together a workshop on my three-step formula to “Love Another Way.” I fully believe this information is what’s missing for many families. Mothers constantly tell me this could have saved them years of heartache. In fact, a few parents were recently talking to my son about how he turned his life around. They asked what they could do to help their own children during the darkest nights. His answer? “Listen to my mom.” Click the link below and sign up for this free confidential workshop. go.livewellandfully.com/3-secrets-fb64-fb/

Powerful change

Finding yourself in recovery from abuse can feel like trying to glue back together the broken shards of a mirror.😔 Except the mirror is actually you — your personality, your spirit — and it hurts picking up each piece, even when you’re being gentle and careful.💔 One of the ways to support your healing is through your thoughts. They’re accessible, free, and private — no one can hear them but you. And most importantly, they’re powerful. Your thoughts influence how you feel and can help you take back control over your life.✨ 💜 Here’s an affirmation to practice — designed to support your mental health recovery after abuse (including from family): ✨ “I am reclaiming the parts of my personality that you once faded out.” Repeat this affirmation daily. Often. Let it plant seeds of change in your mindset — one gentle thought at a time. You deserve to come home to yourself again. 💜✨ With love, and empathy, Rebecca 💜✨ Do you know that I’m a spiritual counsellor? Come follow me to become a key part of this beautiful, healing, divinely guided community 💜✨ #abuserecovery #abuserecoverysupport #mentalhealthaffirmations #woundedwarrior #woundedwarriorsinaction #cantholdmedown #riseupaffirmations #affirmationsforyou

🍃Mindfulness Visualization: Leaves on a Stream 🍃 This is your Daily Mental Pause—a gentle reminder that you are not your thoughts. 💭 ✨ Leaves on a Stream is a powerful visualization from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that helps you practice non-attachment to thoughts. It teaches us to observe our mind with compassion and distance, rather than getting caught in every passing idea or emotion. Here’s how it works: Sit or lie down in a quiet, comfortable place. Close your eyes. Begin to imagine yourself sitting beside a slow-moving stream. Visualize each of your thoughts—good, bad, stressful, or random—as a leaf floating gently on the water. 🍁 Each time a thought arises, place it on a leaf and watch it float downstream. Don’t chase it. Don’t fight it. Just notice it, place it, and let it go. If your mind wanders (and it will!), gently return to the stream. The goal isn’t to clear your mind, but to observe your thoughts without judgment or attachment. This practice can be incredibly grounding when your mind feels busy, anxious, or overwhelmed. It reminds you that thoughts are temporary, and you don’t have to believe or engage with every single one. 🌬 Breathe in. 🍂 Let it go. 🌊 Watch it drift. Repeat. Try this for 5–10 minutes a day—or anytime you need mental space. And remember: you are the observer of your mind, not the chaos it sometimes creates. 💛 Save this post for later and return whenever you need peace. #LeavesOnAStream #MindfulnessMeditation #DailyMentalPause #ACTTherapy #MentalHealthTools #GroundingPractice #LettingGoOfThoughts #YouAreNotYourThoughts #MindfulMoments #SelfCareRoutine #InnerCalm #ObserveNotAbsorb #MentalHealthAwareness #MindfulnessForAnxiety #PeacefulMind

Authentic reality

IF ONLY THEY WOULD CHANGE... Many clients come to me frustrated, stuck, or misunderstood in their relationships. They often believe their problems stem from others or their circumstances. "If only they would change," they think, "then life would feel easier, lighter, more aligned." But here's the truth: the real work isn’t about changing what’s around us – it’s about changing what’s within us. We are energetic beings, and everything we think, feel, and believe sends out vibrations into the world, attracting experiences that reflect our inner state. The universe mirrors back what we hold inside. 🌍 When clients feel unworthy or misunderstood, I remind them that these experiences aren’t the cause of their pain – they’re reflections of what’s ready to heal within themselves. Often, these wounds are rooted in past trauma, and this is where therapy becomes powerful. 🔑 In our 1:1 sessions, I help clients connect with the root causes of their feelings and beliefs, uncovering the stories that influence their reality. It’s not about blaming anyone – it’s about looking within and understanding what’s beneath the surface. 🌊 We can’t control others, but we can choose how we show up and respond. By shifting our energy, we can change our experiences with others. When we turn inward, we see how our beliefs shape the world around us. The more we heal our inner wounds – whether about feeling unworthy, disconnected, or misunderstood – the more we attract healthier relationships and situations. 💖 It’s not about waiting for others to change. It’s about doing the inner work to create a new reality. ✨ By taking responsibility for our inner world, we create aligned, authentic experiences in the outer world. 🌈💞 I invite you to ask yourself: 💬 How do I perceive the people and situations that trigger discomfort in my life? 🔄 What patterns in my relationships reveal about my inner state? 🌱 What energy am I putting out into the world, and how does it influence my experiences? 🧘 What beliefs about myself could I release to bring peace into my relationships? 💖 Where in my life do I need healing, and how can I start today? The power to change is always in our hands. 🙏
