8月28日讯，当地时间8月28日，印度外交部宣布，现任印度驻西班牙大使迪内什·K·帕特奈克被任命为下一任印度驻加拿大高级专员，预计他将于近期上任。2024年10月，印度从加拿大撤回了包括高级专员在内的6名外交官，两国关系呈现紧张局势。今年6月，印度总理莫迪与加拿大总理卡尼在加拿大举行的G7峰会期间举行双边会晤后，两国启动了重新任命高级专员的程序。
