April is Occupational Therapy Month, and we’re celebrating the incredible work of our OT, Linsey Alkire, and the inspiring progress of one of her patients, Dr. Balthrop, an OBGYN. Just six weeks ago, Dr. Balthrop experienced a brain bleed that resulted in complete paralysis of her right arm. Through dedication, determination, and creative therapy led by Linsey, she has made an extraordinary recovery—regaining full use of her right arm and hand and even completing simulated surgeries during her sessions. Now, she has officially graduated from occupational therapy and is returning to the work she loves. Reflecting on her journey, Dr. Balthrop shares this verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) She also expressed deep gratitude, saying she believes God places people in our lives for a reason—and she’s forever thankful for her time at Baptist Outpatient Therapy.
