THREE OF THE 50 APPLICANTS for a Blessed to be a Blessing (B2BAB) project scholarship write appeal letters to prospective sponsors, praying and hoping for a lifeline that will enable them to study in junior and senior high school at Maranatha Christian College this SY 2025-26. Although the school’s fees are perhaps the most affordable among those charged by private high schools in Bacolod City, a minority of its students face financial challenges to their education that need to be overcome through the kindness of Good Samaritans. During the past four school years, these Good Samaritans, mostly MCC high school alumni, have sponsored more than 200 scholarships. Many of the B2BAB scholars come from low-income families and public elementary schools. Despite their economic status, they enrol at MCC because they value the quality Christian education it offers.
