Plus, the anxiety and stress of returning to school after the break can be overwhelming for a child who has lost many of the previous year's literacy gains. I know, from over 20 years of specialist intervention, that engaging in literacy activities 2-3 times a week for just 5-10 minutes can prevent this loss.
