See Autumn Foliage Day and Night at Momijidani Teien Garden Located within Wakayama Castle in Wakayama Prefecture, the beautiful Momijidani Teien Garden (also known as Nishinomaru Garden) was commissioned by a feudal lord in the early 17th century. Each year from late November to early December, the garden is adorned with the vibrant reds and yellows of fall foliage. The highlight of the garden is its integration of the castle's moat, designed like a grand pond. The Engyokaku Pavilion extends out over this pond, creating stunning scenery as it mirrors off the surface of the water with the autumn leaves. The garden is lit up at night, and spectators can enjoy the view from outside the grounds.
