Hello Everyone...as many of uou have already seen, I posted this on The Skyfaire Homepage...but since many of you might not be members I thought I would post it here as well... If you care to contribute to the enormous expense that is engulfing Griffin's live savings and then some, I will post the GoFundMe page his friend made for him...any and all donations are greatly appreciated...thank you in advance!! Hi Everyone! Rosemary here from Faire Faces By Rosemary…using my father’s page (who I’ve made an admin on my FFBR page) since my "personal page" was disabled June, 2024 by a phishing hacker and sadly, I have not been able to get it back. I’m here today to sadly add someone to the Skyfaire list…my son Griffin’s beloved father, Randall Barnes who sold knives and other goodies at Crystal Winds Booth with Terry & Valenya DeLugo and Bobbert…a job he truly loved and was so proud of…he loved their work and to this day still shows off the pieces he has from them. Randy & I remained very close friends after our divorce in 2002, he was in my life for 37 years & was a huge part of it, starting off as neighbors in Lake Tahoe where we married and where Griffin was born. We co-parented together very well so that our son, Griffin would grow up stable, balanced and able to see either of us any time he wanted…we always lived close together...in fact, walking distance. Some couples just make better friends than spouses and that was true for Randy and me. It worked well for us and we were all happier for it. Randy’s health had been declining for the past couple of years…he moved in with Griffin (who lives next door to me!) when the home he was living in, was being sold…Griffin became his guardian, caretaker and rock solid, empathetic, caring and loving son and companion. I was close by for any and all needs outside of that, checking on them daily and bringing over any wanted or needed supplies or goodies. Randy was cheerful, kind, generous, proud, happy and loving to the very end... to myself, Griffin & his friends and anyone he came into contact with. He was a good man…decent and proud especially of our son, Griffin…Randy was generous, kind and loving to Griffin’s friends…giving away his new guitars, custom knives and other valuable treasures like they were boxes of chocolate…without a second thought, he just gifted anything he thought someone might not/could not buy for themselves but could really use… Griffin had taken it upon himself to care for his dad…spending countless nights in the hospital by his side 24/7 during the many extended stays that became Randy’s norm…never complaining or regretting how he had put his whole life, dreams, work, art and goals on hold to share his home and be there 100% for his father…a total rock star son, that Randy was sooo very grateful for. Griffin would never even walk past him without kissing him on the head and saying, "Love You, Papa" their undying mutual love and respect for each other was precious to witness...I will really miss witnessing their loving bond... Griffin has taken it upon himself to take care of all the arrangements of his passing, himself...dedicating much time to the details...wanting everything exactly right, what he believes in his heart his father deserves and isn’t settling for anything less…he has spent nearly his entire life savings doing just that and although I help when I can, it isn’t nearly as much as I had hoped I could contribute…I am looking to give him more as expenses pile up…If you remember Randy and have it in your heart to contribute to this financial load Griffin has, his friends set up a Gofundme and I am happy to link it here if it is permitted…otherwise, reach out to me on my FFBR page and I will send you the link…every bit helps as he is planning and paying for this on his own...a service complete with Military Honors, 7 gun salute, Taps being played etc and he has to hire everyone privately because the military only does it on tape and Griffin wants someone to really play TAPS on an instrument…or he’ll do it himself…my son is determined to send his papa off how he feels is right…I couldn’t be more proud of his dedication, love, devotion and honor he is bestowing upon his beloved Papa's memory…let me know if you care to help…and thanks for listening… and BTW I really, really miss everyone, very very much!! …be well, hugs!
