Hi, I’m Barbara, an Interior Decorator, Designer, and Artist based in beautiful Cape Town. My journey began early. At just 8 years old, I was rearranging furniture and giving rooms impromptu makeovers (usually without permission!) My mom affectionately called me “Moo Moon” and would laugh, “Moo Moon’s done it again!” every time she discovered another surprise transformation. That childhood spark turned into a calling. After studying at Design Time, I launched my business in 2008. Since then, I’ve had the joy of working on over 60 homes (plus a few offices and restaurants), always with the aim of not only meeting my clients’ vision, but exceeding it in ways they never expected. I believe beautiful design should be accessible. I love working with pieces clients already own, breathing new life into them to create something fresh, meaningful, and unique. Nature is my biggest inspiration. Its textures, colours, and forms continually influence my work and my art. For me, the true magic lies in the creative journey. Those moments of exploration, inspiration, and the final “aha!” when everything falls perfectly into place. The greatest reward? Seeing my clients light up in their renewed spaces.
