If a business sells products that cost upwards of £10K, do you think Google Ads or Meta Ads would be the best platform to generate sales? The answer might come as a surprise... The following example relates to a client I work with that sells kitchens. However, what I'm about to share relates to any type of business that sells high-value items. People often favour Google Ads because you can target people who are actively in-market for a particular product or service. Sometimes people say something along the lines of, "Nobody ever just sees a random ad on Facebook or Instagram and decides to buy a kitchen." And they’re absolutely right. However, what many people don’t realise is that you can actually target people who are in-market for whatever you’re selling using Meta Ads too. Picture this... Someone is searching on Google for the product or service you sell. You're lucky if you get a 10% CTR on your ad. That means the other 90% of people looking for what you sell go somewhere else. For every 100 people searching for what you offer, only 10 click your ad. Meta allows you to capture some of those 90% who didn’t visit your site and show them your ad while they browse Facebook or Instagram. This is because Meta is able to track a good chunk of those people as they browse the web and they can work out what they are thinking of buying. Showing them an ad by leveraging this functionality is very different from randomly showing ads to people who aren’t looking to buy. To answer my original question from the beginning of this post... We have a client that does twice as many kitchen sales from Meta compared to Google Ads. (That's just one example of many.) If you’re starting to see growth stagnate, give Meta Ads a go.
