Gentle the

I enjoy reading biographies and autobiographies. They're my favourite kind of books. They help me see how people lived, what they stood for, and the impact they made.
One interesting thing I’ve observed is that in all the life stories I’ve read, there’s never a chapter titled “What He Owned” or “Her Possessions.”
Instead, every story of significance centres around what the person added to people, to their field, to their community, or to the world.
We remember Mandela for the peace he gave. Mother Teresa for the love she gave. Chinua Achebe for the excellence, yet simplicity of his literaryworks.
Not one of them is remembered for what they acquired.
Even in Scripture, the greats like John the Baptist, David, Esther, Paul are celebrated for their contribution, not their collection.
So here’s a gentle reminder as we prepare for a new week:
Your worth is not in what you have. Your worth is in what you add.
And the amazing part is that when you pursue a life of adding value, whether at work, in relationships, or in society wealth, possessions, and even popularity tend to pursue you.
Not because you chased them, but because value attracts reward.
As you rest and reflect today, ask yourself: “What am I adding?”
Wishing you peace, clarity, and purpose.
Happy Sunday.
