To maintain a healthy and fulfilling spiritual life, we must balance living in the world with not belonging to the world. This balance is achieved when we actively cultivate a relationship with Jesus, and then, as His Spirit fills us, we share our love for Him with those around us. If we remain filled with God ourselves but never share Him with others, we tend to become religious and judgmental because we don’t allow God’s love to flow out of us. On the other hand, if we remain in the world for too long and do not maintain an active relationship with Jesus, the love in our souls will begin to dry up, and we will begin to comprise as we look to the world for fulfillment. So, the key is balance. Love God with all you’ve got, and love those around you with that same love that He has given us.
