College Admissions Success Story: Tulane University

I can't keep calm, this college admissions season is turning out to be a wild success! 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 This young man has just been accepted into Tulane University! And what is more, we have now learnt that he received a huge financial package from Tulane - $66,000/ year for 4 years. That is a total $264,000 awarded our young scholar. 🤩🤩🤩 Mhururu! Mhururu! Mhururu nemuridzo! His mother doesn't know it yet, but we are going to work together one day soon. 😅 (She reminds me of my mukoma, Lorine Magdalene). Oh, this mom was made for this stuff. We were a formidable team, so wildly in sync. There were times when I thought, hatisi taakunyanyira mwana. But, oh, the child listened. He took all our advice even when he was convinced about the wisdom received from his teenage sources that normally trump all wisdom from anywhere else in their world. It was a long journey, with more applications than our student would have wished for, but Tulane is not the type of college for which one can put all eggs in one basket. Tulane is one of the most selective universities in America with an 11% acceptance rate. In its last intake, the school received close to 44,000 applications, only offering acceptance to about 4, 800 students. It's insane when you stop and think, over 39,000 other applicants were denied a place at this school. And our boy, pfee! 🕺🏾💃🏾 But such was the impressive profile he submitted to Tulane: deserving a spot amongst these bright scholars joining the college in the fall of 2025. His SAT score was in the 97th percentile for his user group and 99th percentile nationally, meaning, he fell in the top 1-3% whichever way you look at it. That impressive! 🙌🏾 He worked just as hard in his applications, never complaining. And I'm not the easiest person to work with. I demand nothing but the best from these young ones. He stuck with me and worked!!! I've attached a message from his mother written yesterday and one from our young man sent the day before our last session together in January. Working with them was worth every single minute of sleep lost. I loved, loved every bit it! And before my fierce protectors (siblings and friends) 😅 come after me kuprivate chat, thinking I was conned again, this mom paid me twice in our last month working together, and she said, "you're working a lot, and the least I can do is pay you for all your hard work." Vanhu! ♥️ Tulane is our young man's top choice. He visited the school over the summer as he toured colleges and he was convinced Tulane was where he wished to spend the next four years of his life. He now "discards" 19 other applications before the school even get a chance to sent him their "verdicts." Ultimately, he wishes to study medicine. Tulane bound. We wish you well, son of the soil!🤩🤩🤩 .
