Susan Murphy will be offering a Plein Air Workshop at Gribneau’s Getaway on the beautiful shoreline of Sixth Lake. Learn the basics of Watercolor Painting "Plein Air" with Award Winning Artist Sue Murphy. You will learn how to paint your picture from start to finish by: 1. Picking an interest point and making a sketch. 2. "Dropping" in detail around your point of interest. 3. Painting in layers 4. Adding final details. Sue will also cover tips and tricks to keep you safe and comfortable when painting outside. Students will need to bring: their paints and brushes hats sunglasses sunscreen Bug spray (optional) pencil. Bring a snack if you like! We will supply: Paper,(or bring your favorite), Foamcore (to tape paper too) tape, water containers, chairs(or bring your collapsible chair) a surface to put your paper on, water for drinking, and some snacks! Cost is $45 for the class Minimum of 3 people needed for this class to run. Max of 10 people Rain or shine… we will provide cover if needed. About Susan: Susan W Murphy is an award winning versatile Artist and teacher, who has been showing her work for over 40 years. Regionally, Sue has had work in many venues including Artrage, a Solo Show at Le Moyne College,and Syracuse Poster Project. Most recently,she won the Experimental Watercolor Award this past fall in the Philadelphia Watercolor Society's 2024 International Works on Paper, and an award in the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society 's 2024 Show. Sue has had work accepted into the Adirondack Exhibition of American Watercolors, the Cooperstown National Art Exhibition, and the Nation League of American Pen Women in Washington DC, and Columbus, Ohio. Susan has work in the permanent collection of Le Moyne College and the Onondaga Historical Association in Syracuse,NY. Susan's work can be found , in season, at Cooperstown Art Association, Sackets Harbor Art Gallery, and of course, here at the ArtHouse at the Warehouse.
