Bonjour les rêveuses et les rêveurs… Durant trois années, j’ai vécu des aventures extraordinaires à bord de mon catamaran, le Blue Maki, un magnifique Léopard 47 ultra équipé et fabuleusement confortable , le long des côtes sauvages de l’Ouest malgache, dans le canal du Mozambique. J’ai exploré des dizaines d’îles et baies, toutes différentes : Iranja, Nosy Saba, Baramahamay, la Baie des Russes, , Nirindra … certaines désertes, d'autres habitées temporairement par des pêcheurs Vezo ou Sakalava. À Nosy Lava, j’ai souvent accosté face au silence troublant de l’ancien bagne, fermé en 2000 dont les murs étaient recouverts de graffitis qui en disent long sur le traitement que subissaient les bagnards... La baie de Moramba m’a bouleversé par sa beauté : îlots coiffés de baobabs, perroquets sauvages partout, et cette sensation de paix totale où le temps semble suspendu. À Nosy Hara, au Nord Ouest , les Tsingy surgissent de la mer, les fonds marins explosent de vie, et les tortues, dauphins ou requins-baleines m’ont accompagné dans mes" plongées." Parfois, les baleines à bosse accompagnaient le Blue Maki, comme pour indiquer la route.. Et chaque soir, je dormais au mouillage, sous un ciel éclaboussé d’étoiles. Trois ans entre îles, ciel et mer. Trois ans de liberté pure.. Un immense merci à Nanou , mon vieil ami Skipper ...un homme de la mer, un vrai , bourru avec un cœur immense qui a navigué 60 ans sur toutes les mers du monde dont plus de 20 à Mada.. qui m'a fait découvrir toutes ces merveilles ! Ambanin’ny rano, feno aina ny tontolo : sokatra, dauphins, requins-baleines… no niara-nitsoraka tamiko. Indraindray aza, ireo tobimby (baleines à bosse) no nanaraka an’i Blue Maki, tahaka ny manoro lalana am-pitiavana. Ary isaky ny hariva, dia matory eo am-piandrasana manambina ao amin’ny mouillage, eo ambanin’ny lanitra feno kintana mipoapoaka. Telo taona niainana tao anelanelan’ny nosy, lanitra ary ranomasina. Telo taona feno fahafahana sy fahatsorana. Fisaorana manokana ho an’i Nanou, ilay skipper zokiko akaiky — lehilahin-dranomasina tena izy, mitaraina kely indraindray fa manana fo lehibe tsy manam-petra. Nivezivezy 60 taona teny an-dranomasina izy, ka maherin’ny 20 taona teto Madagasikara. Izy no nampahafantatra ahy ireo zava-mahagaga rehetra ireo ! Mirary andro mahafinaritra ho anareo rehetra — na tanora, na efa zokinjokiny ! 🥰🥰🥰 Hello dreamers… For three years, I lived extraordinary adventures aboard my catamaran, Blue Maki — a beautiful, fully-equipped and incredibly comfortable Leopard 47 — along the wild and untouched coastline of western Madagascar, in the Mozambique Channel. I explored dozens of islands and bays, each one unique: Iranja, Nosy Saba, Baramahamay, the Russian Bay, Nirindra… Some were completely deserted, others were temporarily inhabited by Vezo or Sakalava fishermen. In Nosy Lava, I often stopped, alone in front of the eerie silence of the former prison, closed in 2000. The crumbling walls, covered in graffiti, still whisper the harsh reality once lived by the prisoners… Moramba Bay deeply moved me with its beauty: tiny islets topped with baobabs, parrots flying freely, and that overwhelming sense of peace where time feels suspended. In Nosy Hara, in the northwest, the Tsingy rise straight from the sea. Underwater, life bursts in all directions — coral reefs full of color, sea turtles, dolphins, and whale sharks swam beside me during my dives. Sometimes, humpback whales accompanied Blue Maki, as if showing me the way… And every evening, I fell asleep peacefully at anchor, under a sky overflowing with stars. Three years between islands, sky, and sea. Three years of pure freedom… A heartfelt thanks to Nanou, my old friend and skipper — a true man of the sea. Gruff on the surface, but with a heart as vast as the ocean. He sailed the world’s oceans for 60 years, over 20 of them in Madagascar. He’s the one who helped me discover all these wonders.
