Dr SL Bhyrappa’s believes PARVA is his greatest novel: “It is 20 per cent The Mahabharata, and 80 per cent mine,” he says. The original 8-hour performance in Kannada (also adapted and directed by Prakash Belawadi for Mysore Rangayana), did a total of 57 shows, with audiences standing up to applaud for 15 minutes after each performance.
