Welcome, Dr. Itihari Touré, as CLLCTIVLY's Sacred Memory Scholar-in-Residence! We are honored to welcome Mama Itihari Touré, EdD, to the CLLCTIVLY family as our Sacred Memory Scholar-in-Residence! Dr. Touré is a visionary leader, educator, and advocate for Scred Memory as a transformative tool for community healing, cultural inclusion, and innovation. Currently serving as the Director of the Sacred Memory Project & Senior Director for Major Grants for Program Development at McCormick Theological Seminary, she leads groundbreaking initiatives that bridge African and African Diaspora cultural traditions with contemporary innovation. Her Sacred Memory work facilitates authentic being through ancestral wisdom, using the "Oratory of the Sacred" as a sustainable tool for healing and justice. By combining justice design thinking with proclamation, Dr. Touré excavates ancient wisdoms to create innovative models that restore narratives, reclaim cultural heritage, and foster communal learning. Dr. Touré’s formal education was guided by the collective genius of “stage seven” educators, including Dr. Asa G. Hilliard III (noted educational psychologist and historian), Dr. Barbara Richardson (family therapy), Dr. Edward Greene, and Dr. Carol Brunson Phillips (early childhood). This unique education journey focused on reclaiming and restoring African genius and advancing restorative justice. From establishing Black independent schools to designing Africentric curricula and advocating for Black women and girls, Dr. Touré’s lifelong commitment to remembering, restorying, and reimagining perfectly aligns with CLLCTIVLY’s mission.
