On the sixth day of the 12 Days of Mary Bridge, we celebrate Jacob Henderson, MD, who was presented the Physician Hero Award at the annual Bridge Builders Luncheon. Dr. Henderson has been part of the Mary Bridge Children’s family for four years and specializes in caring for kids experiencing cancers and blood disorders, with a particular interest in treating pediatric brain tumors and rare conditions like neurofibromatosis. He’s also active in the Children’s Oncology Group, a national clinical trials organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research. "Dr. Henderson has been my primary oncologist at Mary Bridge Children’s since I was diagnosed with blood cancer or ALL. My favorite thing about Dr. Henderson is his personal connection with each patient and ability to make kids and adolescents like me feel comfortable and confident under his care. Each clinic visit, he always had a fact specific to me and my interests, which made those appointments more bearable and gave me something to look forward to," said Patient Ambassador Claire who was a co-presenter at Bridge Builders.
