Laboratory services are central to effective healthcare delivery, providing critical support in disease diagnosis, surveillance and outbreak management as they play a crucial role in informing clinical decisions, monitoring public health trends and addressing emerging health threats. Strengthening these services is key to building resilient and responsive health systems that align with our Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals. In recognition of this, today we convened a meeting with staff from the National Laboratories Services to deliberate on ways to enhance diagnostic capabilities and align laboratory operations with our Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA). As we move forward, we urge the team to uphold the highest standards in their work, as their expertise and dedication are central to safeguarding the health and well-being of our communities. Together, we are building a stronger, more responsive healthcare system for all Kenyans.
