[English Below] Suốt hai tháng liền, anh G. (49 tuổi, sống tại Burundi – châu Phi) đau âm ỉ vùng hông lưng. Khám tại địa phương, bác sĩ phát hiện anh có sỏi thận, nhưng việc điều trị sỏi thận tại đây còn hạn chế. Được một đồng nghiệp người Việt giới thiệu về hệ thống y tế hiện đại, chi phí hợp lý và đội ngũ bác sĩ giỏi tại Việt Nam, anh quyết định vượt gần 9.000km về Việt Nam để điều trị tại Bệnh viện Đa khoa Tâm Anh TP.HCM. Bác sĩ Trần Huy Phước, Trung tâm Tiết niệu – Thận học – Nam khoa, là người trực tiếp điều trị cho anh, kết quả chụp CT cho thấy ở thận trái của anh G. có sỏi 20-25mm, gây ứ nước; bể thận phải có sỏi to khoảng 20mm. Do sỏi lớn hai bên, bác sĩ quyết định tán sỏi thành hai đợt. Cuộc mổ đầu tiên, bác sĩ đã nội soi tán sỏi thận ngược dòng bằng ống mềm để giải quyết sỏi bên thận phải kết hợp laser tán sỏi thành mảnh nhỏ và đào thải tự nhiên qua đường tiểu. Sau mổ, anh G. không đau, không cần đặt ống thông tiểu, xuất viện chỉ sau 24 giờ. Sức khỏe phục hồi tốt, anh đã tranh thủ du lịch khắp TP.HCM và các tỉnh miền Tây trước khi trở lại hoàn tất ca mổ thứ hai. _____________ For two consecutive months, Mr. G. (49, from Burundi, Africa) experienced a persistent dull ache in his lower back and flank. Local doctors discovered he had kidney stones, but treatment options there were limited. A Vietnamese colleague recommended Vietnam’s modern healthcare system, reasonable costs, and skilled doctors, leading him to travel nearly 9,000 km to seek treatment at Tâm Anh General Hospital HCMC. Dr. Tran Huy Phuoc, from the Urology - Nephrology - Andrology Center, directly treated him. CT scans revealed Mr. G. had 20-25mm stones in his left kidney, causing hydronephrosis, and a 20mm stone in his right renal pelvis. Due to the large size of the stones on both sides, doctors decided on a two-stage lithotripsy. In the first surgery, doctors performed a flexible ureteroscopy to break up the stones in his right kidney using laser lithotripsy, allowing the fragments to be naturally expelled through urine. After the surgery, Mr. G. experienced no pain, did not require a urinary catheter, and was discharged after just 24 hours.
