I love Christmas—it’s my favorite time of year. But Good Friday is the ultimate game changer. Why is it called good? Because on that day, a divine exchange took place: Jesus took everything bad we deserved—and in return, gave us the reward of a King. The Gospel isn’t just beautiful—it’s compelling when told in full. God is not demanding from us; He’s supplying to us. He’s not on a sin hunt—He’s on a blessing hunt, looking for those who will receive by faith. “For If by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 Law vs Grace • Law: If you obey and perform, you’ll be blessed. Grace: Jesus obeyed perfectly—and you receive the blessing. • Law: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Grace: Jesus loved you with all His heart, soul, and mind—and let the nails hold Him to the Cross. • Law: Demands a righteousness you can’t produce. Grace: Freely gives you His righteousness, apart from your works. • Law: God visits the sins of the fathers to the 3rd and 4th generation. Grace: “Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.” As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed your sins from you. The Christian life isn’t about becoming a better version of yourself. It’s about a complete exchange: His life for yours. You are a new creation. He took your punishment—and gave you His inheritance. It’s not about rules or restrictions. It’s about receiving a life of blessing—fully paid for by Someone else—and living it to the fullest. I’m a Christian, and honestly, I can’t imagine doing life without this kind of unfair advantage. Happy Good Friday!
