📢 We are not using Bovaer! at Stokehouse Farm Dairy We’ve had a few enquiries in recent days asking if we feed Bovaer to our cows 🐮 We want to reassure our valued customers, milk from our farm is 100% unaffected by the recent trials involving Bovaer, a chemical additive claimed to reduce carbon emissions in cattle. We confirm we do NOT feed it to our herd and have no plans to. Our cows graze Stokehouse Farm, eat homegrown grass silage and homegrown and locally grown hay! And now for the next 8-12 weeks they will also get a little treat of sugar beet based cake. The girls love this and it gives them a little boost in nutrition over the wet winter months when there isn’t enough grass in the pastures. Here at Stokehouse we are working with environment, nature and cows to naturally reduce our environmental impact and increase sustainability. This is a passion and we will continue to strive to improve further where possible. Our cows raise their own calves and are milked once a day to supply milk to our milk sheds.
