At tonight's Council meeting, I voted for a lower rate increase. Families across the Comet Bay ward and the wider Rockingham area are under real financial pressure. They don't need a bigger hit from the Council. That's why I stood up for a responsible rates decision of 3.5% instead of the 3.9% recommended by the officers. I believe the City of Rockingham can keep rate rises in check while delivering better infrastructure for our community. This is what I'm fighting for. I will continue fighting to ensure our City remains not just a great place to live but also an affordable one.
