🏫 Weekly Highlights at The Goddard School of Newark Building Bright Futures – One Experience at a Time! At The Goddard School of Newark, every week is filled with joyful, purposeful learning — and this week was no exception! Our activities are designed to nurture growing minds, strong bodies, and healthy habits as we help prepare our students for kindergarten and beyond. Here's a peek at what we explored together this week: 🍦 Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag Our young chefs measured, mixed, and shook their way to a tasty science lesson! This hands-on cooking project taught our students about freezing points and cause-and-effect, while reinforcing teamwork and fine motor skills. It also gave us the perfect opportunity to talk about nutrition and the importance of balance and moderation. 👉 Want to try it at home? Check out our recipe in our previous post! 🫐🍅Outdoor Classroom and Garden The blueberry and tomato plants look great! Mint and Peppers are growing nicely as well! The new Giant Abacus is almost completely assembled, and we've got another project nearing completion as well. We constantly strive to add new elements to enhance the outdoor learning experience! 🎶 Music School of Delaware Performance Our school was filled with beautiful melodies as musicians from the Music School of Delaware introduced students to instruments, rhythm, and movement. Exposure to music at an early age boosts language development, listening skills, and creativity — all key elements of school readiness! 🏃 Amazing Athletes Adventure Students worked on gross motor skills, balance, and coordination during their active session with Amazing Athletes. Our physical development activities help children build confidence, healthy habits, and strong bodies in a fun, age-appropriate way. 🎤 Jitterbugs Music & Movement We wrapped up our week with high-energy fun from Jitterbugs! This program blends music, rhythm, and movement, helping children develop body awareness, memory, and self-expression — all while having a blast! 🌟 Our Philosophy in Action Everything we do at The Goddard School of Newark is rooted in our belief that young children learn best through purposeful play and hands-on exploration.
