Why give us your hard earned money and time for a day of learning? How about learning how to safely shoot your handgun? This class covers it. How about learning the legal concerns of when you can shoot? This class covers it. How about learning how to conceal carry? This class covers it? How about developing a plan to practice to improve your skills? This class covers it. In short, there is a lot more to concealed carry than strapping a gun to your hip and calling it good. There are a number of 3 hour safety classes in Missoula put on by big box stores. If you think that prepares you for knowing how to use your firearm in a violent encounter, you are sadly mistaken. Do you want to learn some actual shooting skills in your Gun Safety class? A course entitled “Basic Handgun for Personal Protection and Concealed Carry” will be hosted in Missoula by NRA certified instructors Nate Martin and Scott Giesick at the Deer Creek Shooting Range in East Missoula, MT. This class is not one of those 3 hour lecture classes that frequent the market place in Missoula. Those classes have no range time and leave the student with no firearm skill development. This class provides skills that you may need to save your life. This one-day course will concentrate on the safe handling, storage and use of handguns suitable for personal protection. The class will cover selecting a personal firearm, concealed weapon permits, gun safety, justifiable use of force and shooting skills. The class will include both classroom, firearm training and shooting range session that will leave the student with an increased confidence level in their ability to use a firearm to defend themselves. Graduates will receive a certification qualifying them to apply for concealed weapon permits under Montana law. The class will begin at 8:30 AM, and finish about 4:30 PM. Class size is limited to the first 12 registrants. Pre-registration is required. Tuition is $120 per student. Students should be 16 years or older – with the proviso that concealed weapons permits are not issued to people under 18 years of age.
