Yes, it's a hot one out there, but still lot's going on at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park! We had the pleasure of hosting a documentary film crew all the way from Japan to capture the story of our endemic Blue Iguana. You can always see the Blue Iguanas at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park free roaming, or up close at the Blue Iguana Conservation area. Admission is included in our entry fee. During your visit you may see these white bags on trees or vines throughout the park. Please do not touch them, as they are in place to protect the fruit from birds and other critters so that we can get at the seeds and propagate them for the future. Some plants are best propagated from seeds and this also helps to maintain genetic diversity! We also had a celebration for one of our employees Ms. Denise who is moving on from the park to spend more time with her grandchildren! Also, some new items in our gift shop as well, including this beautiful Blue Iguana walking stick! Not complete without a few pictures of our orchids from our own collection on display at the rear of the Visitor Centre, these beautiful hybrid Vanda's are from our friends @motes_orchids Always something to do at the Botanic Park! If you want to cool off, don't forget about our @Caymannational Splashpad in the Children's Garden.
