Our religion teaches us that contentment is not passive surrender, It is the peace that fills the heart when it trusts what Allah has written, While the soul keeps striving, and the mind remains certain that what is with Allah is always the best , Even when the path feels unclear and life feels heavy with unanswered questions. The more I study psychology, the more I’m convinced that our religion had already taught us these truths. Carl Rogers, one of the pioneers of psychology, called this the Existential Lifestyle: To live each moment as it is, with complete honesty, Without deceiving yourself by sugarcoating reality, Or painting the present to match the image you wish to see of yourself. Contentment doesn’t mean giving up or settling for less, It’s the clarity that helps you see things as they truly are, not as you want them to be. It’s the freedom that allows you to choose, to move, and to shape your reality with open eyes. A heart that is content with awareness never stops striving, And a soul that surrenders to Allah’s wisdom never stops praying for guidance toward what is best. This is the balance our faith teaches us: To surrender without being defeated, To be content without becoming stagnant, To trust that what passed you by was never meant for you, And what is written for you will find its way to you , in its time, by Allah’s will. ديننا علّمنى إن الرضا مش معناه إنك تسيب نفسك وتقول خلاص قدرى كده، لا… الرضا هو سلام القلب لما يصدق إن اللى ربنا كاتبه خير، حتى لو أنا مش فاهمة دلوقتي. هو إن قلبى يطمن، ونفسى تفضل تسعى، وعقلى يفضل متأكد إن ما عند الله خير، حتى لو الطريق قدامى مش واضح، والحياة مليانة أسئلة مش لاقية لها رد. وكل مرة أقرأ أكتر فى علم النفس، ألاقي إن دينا سبق الكل وعرفنا المعنى ده . كارل روجرز، واحد من أكبر رواد علم النفس، سماها أسلوب الحياة الوجودى: إنك تعيش اللحظة زى ما هى، بصدق… من غير ما تضحك على نفسك وتجمّل الواقع عشان يريحك، ولا تلوّن الحاضر عشان يطمن صورتك عن نفسك. الرضا مش معناه إنك تتنازل أو ترضى بالقليل، الرضا هو البصيرة… تشوف الحاجة على حقيقتها مش على قد أمانيك. هو الحرية اللى تخليك تختار وتتحرك وتشكل حياتك وإنت واعى. القلب اللى راضى بوعى عمره ما بيبطل يسعى، والروح اللى مسلّمة أمرها لله عمرها ما بتبطل تدعى: يا رب دلّنى على الخير… وخد بإيدى. وده التوازن اللى ديننا علموا لنا: أسلّم بس ما أستسلمش، أرضى بس ما أركنش، وأفضل مصدّقة إن اللى راح مش كان ليه، واللى ليه… هييجى، فى وقته، بقدر ربنا ولطفه.”
