Fresh co-host
We’re partnering with the Commonwealth Club World Affairs to host a timely conversation on fixing CalFresh — California’s version of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps.
Right now, billions of dollars in food benefits go unused, while families who should receive CalFresh needlessly go without food. AB518, a new state law co-sponsored by the Food Bank, requires the state to identify people eligible but unenrolled in CalFresh and find ways to get them onboard. And there’s more work to be done to make the system truly equitable and effective.
Hear from the speakers:
- Max Rettig, VP & Head of Global Public Policy, DoorDash
- Dr. Corey Jackson, CA Assemblymember—Moderator
- Eli Zigas, Executive Director, Fullwell
See you on May 30 at Commonwealth Club!
