Based in Durham NC, the passionate quartet features Greylan on majestic guitars, Jacob Seyle on heated Hammond B-3 organ, Mark Voller supplying the low end and Ethan Prindle delivering thundering drums. Drew Foust & The Wheelhouse: Drew Foust’s music sounds like it’s made between the bleary hours of a rock bar’s last call and a southern preacher’s early morning prayer. Hand made, self-made and arranged in dramatic structure, the music is lyrical and rhythm driven, always pushing a feeling forward. The Wheelhouse band is an amalgamation of some of the best musicians in the piedmont region of North Carolina. Together, Drew and the band lend themselves to heartfelt songwriting with high-test grooves, purveying their signature southern soul n’ roll sound. Current members are Jimmy Washington on rhythm guitar, Jared Church on bass, Jack Foster on drums and Cole Covington on keys. The band is known for expanding beyond its core members, having collaborated in studio and on stage with DaShawn Hickman, Sam Fribush, Maia Kamil and Jive Mother Mary. #2 IN THIS YEARS FRIDAY JAZZ SERIES LINEUP Geléia is a collective of musicians created on Waiheke Island and based in Auckland. As a collective, it gathers many musicians from many countries and music backgrounds. The core of the project is Bossa Nova/Samba and Gypsy Jazz......classics from the legends, like Django Reindhardt, Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto... Geléia are: Chris Orange (bass), Sophie Aston (vocals) , Nuno Moura Santos (drms), Martin King (guitar), and Jeremy Wallas(guitar) The collective is known as Geléia - which means “jam” in Portuguese. Geleia offers a unique performance of jazz hits that will make anyone swing. Recent music events have had the punters jumping! Doors will open at 6pm with dinner service from 6:30 and music beginning once the first wave of tapas is served. Three sets of music alongside three courses with the evening ending at approximately 10pm.
