Protecting Our Lakes ~ We can all do our part! The White Lake ADK Association, Inc. (WLADK/SWADK) is passionate about protecting our Adirondack lakes from the invasion of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS). With our billboard and Adirondack Express advertising, we support the FREE Forestport Boat Wash Station, located at the Forestport Town Hall 10275 State Route 28 at the gateway to the southwest corridor of the Adirondack Mountains. It plays a critical role in protecting area lakes from the devastating impacts of aquatic invasive species (AIS). White Lake is one of few lakes in the ADK remaining free of AIS.

Today, I am proud to unveil https://environment.kn.gov.ng — the official online gateway of the Kano State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. This platform marks a decisive leap toward the transparent, citizen-centred governance championed by His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and it underscores our unwavering commitment to building a greener, healthier, and more prosperous Kano. Our new website is far more than a digital brochure; it is a living hub where every resident, business, and partner can engage directly with our work. From real-time air and water-quality indices to a 24/7 portal for reporting environmental and erosion concerns, we are putting actionable information—and the means to act—into the hands of the people we serve. Visitors can explore all ministry programmes, track the progress of our flagship 2025 Five-Million-Tree Planting Campaign, and even join the effort through our volunteer registration page. In line with His Excellency’s vision of job creation and inclusive growth, the site houses a streamlined recruitment portal and a dedicated Public-Private Partnership interface to attract green investment and spur innovation. For researchers, civil-society advocates, and the general public, the full text of the Kano State Environmental Pollution Control Law and its Regulations—in both English and Hausa—is just one click away. And should you need swift assistance, our Quick-Contact desk ensures prompt, accountable responses. This system is another milestone in our broader digital-transformation agenda: empowering communities, safeguarding our natural heritage, and aligning every initiative with the administration’s climate-resilient pathway.
