After his owner passed away, he and his sister were surrendered to a kill shelter.😞 We took them in last year; Both were severely overweight which tragically led to his sister's health declining. Obesity in cats leads to many health issues; we heartbreakingly had to euthanize his sister due to issues too long untreated previously, despite our vet's best efforts.💔 It was a devastating loss and a serious reminder of the importance of maintaining your pet’s weight, but it’s what put Java on a path to a brew-tiful new life! He's been working hard to shed those extra pounds and is feeling so much better. His glow-up is truly something to behold! He's "perked" right up and is ready to show off his new physique. Java is a gentle, tender soul and a total darling. He’s a little slow to warm up—he needs a moment to "simmer"—but once he's comfortable, it could be the start of a brew-tiful friendship! He’s the perfect "blend" of goofy, lazy, & affectionate. We guarantee he’s the sweetest, most half-de-caffeinated goofball you'll ever meet who’s always ready to brew up some fun and mischief but also totally down to hang with the gang on a comfy couch.💞 This little guy has had a lot of sorrow, and he just needs a quiet, calm home filled with love and warmth. In honor of National Kitten Day, here is our Adoption Ambassador’s story!! Meet Dino – the kitten who inspired a movement. Dino’s journey wasn’t just about finding a home - it became why we do what we do. He’s the reason Cincy Cat Connection exists today: to ensure no cat is overlooked, to create more visibility and opportunities to engage with the public, and to connect every deserving feline with a loving home. Here is his story, told by him! *************************** When I first came into my foster mom’s care at just 8 weeks old, I was one of three siblings full of curiosity, mischief, and potential. Linda fostered us and we thrived, played, and grew into healthy, happy kittens. Every Saturday, for some visibility, Linda took us to the foster-based rescue’s thrift shop, hoping someone would fall in love and give us a forever home. One by one, my siblings were adopted. But not me. Linda and I waited patiently, week after week, but I was overlooked and unnoticed. Still, Linda saw something extraordinary in me—a spark, a charm, an amazing playfulness. When I became a ‘solo’ kitten, she opened her home completely and introduced me to her own crew of cats and dogs. That’s when my personality exploded - playful, affectionate, curious, and confident. I was everything anyone could want in a companion! We gave it another shot at a large adoption event, but again, I was passed over. It broke Linda’s heart. What were we missing? I needed MORE visibility! With hope and determination, Linda moved me to a larger shelter with glass rooms where my personality could truly be seen. And finally - I was adopted. Dino is our Adoption Ambassador – his story is our WHY! We can’t do it without you.
