This episode is about the hundreds, maybe even thousands of heroes seen and unseen. Sometimes we must be provoked in our thoughts about seemingly obvious things such as actions, attitudes, giving, serving, praying and caring. Proverbs 3:27 says “Do not withhold good from the deserving when it’s within your power to act.” There are so many wonderful heroes that persevere in devotion and commitment to help others. Here at Youth Mission Outreach we are privileged to work side by side with some of these amazing individuals. For instance, heroes steward the Garden of Eatin' for hours and hours in the heat, rain and cold, cultivating ideas in which to better the garden. Heroes contribute non-monetary donations of plants, lumber, wood chips, dirt and other miscellaneous garden supplies. In Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, heroes pray over recipients, put food items away, ensure continued donations to fill the shelves and show kindness to those in need. At Senior Social Eyes, heroes shop, plan, set up, break down and fundraise for each event. Their attention to detail at every event is evident as they ensure the utmost dignity to each mature child of God that attends! In the Health Crusader’s program, heroes plan special children’s cooking events using their own resources, creating ways to enhance the experience of cooking and better choices for children. At The Barn Thrift Shops, heroes support our ministry and programs financially. The leadership team is always encouraging and giving. Customers are heroes too as every purchase aides our programs and so many more. Needle In The Haystack supporters are heroes that give encouraging words and purchase items faithfully to support YMO. Our Pop-Up team heroes selflessly price and sell items to help support YMO. And then there are the financial heroes who give to support YMO. These are just a few of the unsung heroes of today and there are many more. Not one receives a paycheck or allows themselves to be credited and yet their faithfulness, goodness and love they do not withhold. We applaud you!
