Taoiseach Micheál Martin has ruled out lifting sanctions against Russia, stressing that unity remains strong among EU and non-EU leaders. He reaffirmed that sanctions will stay in place until a just and comprehensive peace is reached in Ukraine.
At a Paris summit, leaders, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasised the need to strengthen Ukraine militarily. Discussions covered ceasefire monitoring, deterrence forces, and advanced surveillance technologies to track Russian actions.
Ireland has pledged €100m in support for Ukraine and remains committed to training Ukrainian troops, demining efforts, and providing drone technology to assist in frontline evacuations.
