Inspirational award
Nurturing the next generation is at the heart of what we do.
As part of our 90th anniversary, we hosted about 300 teens and their families in collaboration with the The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.
As part of the event, we held a fireside chat featuring Bian Tong, Bill Chan and Stephy Chien, 3 inspirational youths who shared their experiences with the youths. The event was officiated by the Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State for Education, David Neo.
During the dialogue, Bill, first male Singaporean athlete to be ranked within the Top 100 of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior World Rankings, shared his inspiring journey of overcoming adversity to excel in tennis, demonstrating how passion and perseverance can drive success. He was joined by two other inspiring youths: Stephy, Winner of the 2023 UOB Painting of the Year (Singapore), Most Promising Artist of the Year (Emerging Artist Category), and Bian, a UOB Wee Cho Yaw Future Leaders Award recipient and Director of The Jazzlings.
Together, they captivated the audience with stories of creativity, leadership, and resilience — highlighting the boundless potential of purpose-driven youth.
