What a difference five months of rehabilitation in the life of a rescued baby sea turtle can make!? More than 10 times its own bodyweight and the difference of dying on a beach or surviving and help the entire species of loggerhead turtles in our ocean's 🐢👍! Today, we are celebrating the arrival of another partner to the Dolphin Discovery Centre Family: @JBS&G - An Independent Accredited Environmental Consultancy https://www.jbsg.com.au/ has signed up with us for a 3 year partnership to safeguard the rescue turtle program and to help build the NEW Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre that currently gets developed by our own experts. Without these partnerships and grants from Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and @Lotterywest, this would not be possible and we say a massive thank you to all who help making a difference to an endangered marine species. The lowest arrival weight this year was tiny turtle 'Megan' weighing only 41g, and today it holds still the record with almost 900g more than 20 times its initial weight - you go Megan💪! All of this wouldn't be possible without or dedicated and passionate Volunteers & Staff looking after these animals 24/7.
