🎭 Sociodrama: Moving from Awareness to Action (2/2)
Why #sociodrama? Why now?
At Transition to 8, we turn to sociodrama because it brings a powerful mix of insight, embodiment, and community dialogue - tools essential for addressing complex issues like air pollution and its effects on our daily lives. Rooted in sociodynamics and sociometry, it helps participants map relationships, power dynamics, and emotional landscapes within groups.
⚖️ Inspired by J.L. Moreno’s vision of sociatry - healing society through creativity and connection - we engage communities in processes that reveal the underlying structures shaping social behavior. When people step into roles, test new perspectives, and co-create scenarios of change, they don't just imagine alternatives - they live them.
📊 Using sociometric techniques, participants gain a clearer, often measurable, understanding of their positions, beliefs, and the collective perceptions around pressing topics. These embodied experiences offer insights that go beyond words - something that more and more researchers are embracing as they move past purely text-based qualitative methods.
🌍 In our sessions, sociodrama will become a rehearsal space for real life. Participants will explore not only how pressing environmental matters have influenced them, but also envision how they could act as communities within a societal context. The emphasis is on shared roles and collective narratives, allowing people to witness how public opinion and emotional currents shape collective consciousness.
As we face global challenges like climate change and urban pollution, sociodrama offers a space for imagining futures that are more just, sustainable, and inclusive.
Follow our journey as we continue to activate imagination for transformation. This is only the beginning.
